DISASTER

I am so embarrassed to even post this, after my rah-rah, I'm going to the gym posts, this morning and yesterday. I considered just slinking away for a few days till my next gym appointment on Friday, but decided to come clean.

I grabbed some tortilla chips and some American cheese on my way out the door to the gym, and had a **horrible** stuck and throwing up episode. As in, into a plastic bag while I drove, pulled over for more, finally got to the gym and went inside, only to turn around and get outside to do it alll over again in the car. And then again at home.

F-ing nightmare. All I said to the trainer was that I had gotten sick. I said I'd be back for my Friday appointment.

Last night I had a bad stuck episode (no vomiting) and I guess I was still swollen. Didn't take the all-liquids rule to heart today.

My throat has been on fire. Just sat down with some soup now. 24 more hours of liquids.

So no gym today. Mortifying.

  1. I have had a few of those lately and my band gets swollen and I have to stick to liquids because I will get stuck so easily after! I thought I needed an unfill, turns out I just need to chew and eat slow! lol

  10. As a newer bandster you hear the experienced bandster chant "chew, chew, chew" and you think what the hell is the fuss because you can eat just fine.. and then these type of experiences come along and it all clicks.. so sweetie I know what you mean.. and it is not a good place to be.. cloudy mushies today.. with a chance of meatballs tomorrow!! hang in there..Friday will be a better day..

  12. It's a good learning experience, but there's no harm in what happened. Just take this as a learning experience and stock your car with extra plastic baggies just in case, for the future.

I just barfed up some chocolate milk. How does freaking MILK get "stuck" in the band? I don't get it. Sometimes these things happen.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  14. I skipped the gym on Wednesday too after a stuck episode. Didn't want to suffer on the elliptical. I think I will go after work today as the pain is almost gone. Stuck to mushies today just in case. Feel better soon and don't feel guilty. It was a choice.

  15. You poor baby...sounds frightening. Especially to those of us who have only heard about this phenomenon and have yet to experience it. With my 2nd fill on Monday, it can't be long now.
Hope you feel better tomorrow doll.
