New Jeans and Question of the Day

I'm wearing new jeans! SMALLER jeans. Which is a really nice NSV, particularly since the scale is not moving. I can't legitimately complain about that, though - I know full well why the scale is not moving. And by that I mean I can officially eat a quarter pounder with fries.

So the waistband on the jeans got a teeeny bit tight after lunch. Serves me right. FOR SHAME.

In the good news department, my fill has been moved to first thing Thursday morning, and I've revamped the childcare arrangements since there's no chance in hell the Hubs will be able to fly home Wednesday night as planned. New York City schools are canceled tomorrow already, for only the third time in eight years. Yikes.

The good news is, I've got milk, eggs and numerous child-oriented videos. We have a list of projects (the kids' school valentines, cleaning bedrooms, packing away clothes they've grown out of, etc.) that will keep us fairly busy, along with shoveling and spending two hours dressing them in snow gear so they can go outside for 90 seconds before deciding it's just too cold.

For everyone getting this storm - Stay warm and enjoy as much of it as you can!

Question of the Day: How many cc's did your surgeon give you for your first fill, and how many cc's did it take till you felt good restriction, or at your sweet spot? (I have a 10cc band.)

  1. Congrats on the new jeans!

I had 4cc's in my band when I was banded, really good restriction came around 7cc. I have a 10 cc band too! Hope they are aggressive

  3. I too have a 10 cc Band. I had 2 cc's in at Surgery, then at my first Fill I was given another 1 cc, for my 2nd Fill, I had to fight for another 1 cc (they wanted to give me .5 cc's!).

So I am currently at 4 cc's. My 3rd Fill is on the 17th of February, and they have already told me that .5 cc's will be the most I can get! :( Which means that at that point, I will only have 4.5 cc's.

So far no Restriction AT ALL! I am not expecting any Restriction until at least 5-6 cc's if not 7 cc's. I hope your Surgeon is more aggressive than mine!!

  4. Hey Kristin.. great NSV.. gotta love fitting into smaller jeans. I have the 11cc Realize band.. first fill was 5 cc.. next was 1 cc and I go for my third fill on the 22nd.. I have moderate restriction now, but know it could be a bit tighter so I am hoping for another cc.. I am sick of the snow and they are calling for another 18".. this is after the 24' we just got with more snow next week.. Sounds like you have a great game plan to keep the kids busy.. stay warm

  5. Love the Jeans NSV!!! That is always motivating!!
I have a 14cc band and currently have 6 ccs in it.. I do not have much restriction. I go in for my 5th fill in 2 weeks. My doc is pretty good about letting me decide when to schedule my appointments. I'm hoping the next one does something to help with restriction!! :)

  6. Congratulations. Wearing smaller sizes is really what it's all about. Oh, and our health of course. : ) Don't have a band yet so I can't answer your question, but am interested in hearing everyone's answers.

  7. I have a 9cc band, started at 0, got 4cc's on my first fill and feel pretty good restriction at 6.25. Great news on the jeans, not so great news on the burger...don't worry restriction is on it's way!!

  8. Smaller jeans are always soo nice. I have a 10 cc band, got 4cc with surgery, and 3 fills later I have (i think) 5.75, and I think I am almost at my sweet spot.

Just keep in mind everybody is different and 5.75cc's to me will feel different than to you.

  9. Great NSV! And cool the fill got moved up!

My first fill I got 4 ccs in a 10 cc band. I definitely noticed the difference, it was good for about 2 weeks though...

Second fill was +2 to bring me to 6 ccs. That is when the restriction really kicked in. Close to sweet spot.

Third fill I went up to 7 ccs. Sweet spot! Then after about 8 weeks I got a little bit more to bring me back to the sweet - so now after my 4th fill (in 5 months) I am at 7.4 and life is good! NO interest in food : MIRACLE!

My doc was aggressive, and I am SO thankful. I would take as much as they are willing to give for your first fill!
