Fill 'Er Up

I have 4 cc's in my 10 cc band! My surgeon mentioned at my post-op visit that he usually gives 1.5 to 2 cc's for the first fill and I was none too happy about that. When I went in this morning, I asked for four and to my complete surprise, he gave it to me.

Please God don't let me be foaming at the mouth an hour from now...

**UPDATE**
I'm on liquids through Saturday, and the protein shake I had this morning went down fine. I just had 1/2c of turkey chili that I thinned out with some chicken stock and blended - delicious and filling. I may still make a two-week appointment just in case (thanks Gen for the suggestion). But I'm sure I'll be a bit more restricted now, even if it's not the sweet spot yet.

  2. Good you Kristin.. how large is your band? Did they have you drink the water.. my doc says as long as you can swallow the water you will be OK. I think the band loosens up or your stomach shrinks over the weeks, I wish I was a bit more tighter in my last fill.. Let us know how this works out for you.. and if you can feel the restriction.

  4. Thanks for the good thoughts! I have a 10cc band, so we'll see how this shakes out. The doc said I could come back for more in two weeks if I'm really hungry.

  5. Nice fill!!!!! usually if you can swallow the water at the docs office you should be ok. BEware though sometimes it takes a few days for the fill to kick in...

  6. Good for you!!!!!! My first fill was 4 ccs in a 10 cc band - not a problem at all. I would go back in 2 weeks for sure if you feel ready. I had to wait a month after my first fill, but I could have used more 2 weeks later.

  7. Awesome, not only are we surgery date sisters, now we are 'fill' sisters-- right at 4cc's.
    Let's hope for the best.
What is your protocol? Are you on liquids for 2 days and then mushies like little old me?
    Or what?

  8. Glad to hear so many are doing well, shortly after their surgery. Gives me hope.

OK and I have to be smug about the snow ya'll are getting on the Eastern Seaboard. We sent it down specifically from Ottawa, Canada (where I live). We only have a foot on the ground and am sooo glad we haven't had more. Strangest winter I can remember. You will have to move north :-) Ok smugginess over. The kids love the snow, so send them out to make snowmen. It'll keep them occupied for most of the day. Have fun and fantastically amazing about the weight loss.

  10. hey there chicky ! Just remember that it could take about 2 weeks after a fill and on solid foods to really gauge the restriction level so dont jump to quickly and get overfilled !! The foaming and sliming is horrible ! thank God I was still at the docs when it happened..not a good episode !!
